About me
Early Childhood (Born & Raised in Kyoto, Japan)
I was born and raised in Kyoto, Japan, a city filled with history, culture, and beautiful landscapes. I grew up in a big house with my mother, father, and grandmother. My father, a German sales manager, and my mother, a Japanese professional pianist and music teacher, shaped my upbringing with two rich cultures. Growing up bilingual, I naturally learned both Japanese and German, which helped me understand different perspectives from an early age.
As a baby, I was very quiet, rarely cried, and slept a lot. I was simply observing the world without truly understanding much. Over time, I began recognizing patterns, faces, and sounds, slowly making sense of my surroundings.

Early Fascinations (Ages 4-6)
At the age of five, while attending a Japanese kindergarten, I developed a deep love for airplanes. I was fascinated by how such massive objects could fly so fast. I would often draw airplanes, imagine them soaring through the sky, and even use my hand as a plane, flying it around in my own world.
Another major childhood obsession was trains. My grandmother would take me three to four times a week to a locomotive park, where I could not only see the trains but also ride them. The feeling of moving through space so smoothly gave me an early sense of freedom that I deeply appreciated. These small yet powerful experiences shaped my love for discovery and exploration.
Primary School (Ages 6-8) – A Love for Math & Creativity
When I started Japanese elementary school, I was immediately drawn to three subjects:
- Sports (I loved running and being active)
- Art (Creativity was always a huge part of me)
- Mathematics (I was fascinated by numbers and patterns)
In Japanese schools, discipline was intense, and we had daily homework. One of the most challenging yet rewarding parts was memorizing multiplication tables (from 1×1 to 9×9). I took school very seriously, always putting in effort and hard work. Looking back, I believe this is where I developed my strong commitment and work ethic.
Additionally, I enjoyed Kanji drills, practicing new characters every day and improving my writing skills. However, after second grade, my life took a huge turn—I transferred to an international German school in Kobe.

International School in Kobe (Ages 8-12) – A New Perspective
Moving to Kobe was my first time living in another city. I attended a German school (Deutsche Schule Kobe – DSK), where classes were taught in German and English. At first, it was difficult since I didn’t speak English, but after constant practice and many failed attempts at making friends, I eventually became fluent.
During my time at DSK, I had several important experiences:
- YouTube Fascination: In 4th grade, some of my friends started YouTube channels, which inspired me to start my own called Lifeforeverforward. However, after receiving negative feedback from students at another school (DSTY in Tokyo), I decided to delete my videos.
- Sports & Competitions: I was one of the fastest runners in school and excelled in sports due to the small number of students (100-200 in total).
- Art Awards: I won an art competition three years in a row, competing against students from all over Hyogo Prefecture.
- Exhibition Project (5th Grade): My first deep dive into science happened when I worked on an exhibition about neuroscience. I researched stress, depression, and anxiety, and this project made me curious about complex topics, shaping my love for science and mathematics today.
Living in an international environment also gave me a global perspective, allowing me to easily connect with people from different backgrounds.

Discovering Music (Ages 10-12)
Since childhood, I had been surrounded by music because of my mother’s piano concerts. At around 10 years old, she encouraged me to sing in a boy’s choir (Libera style) because of my high vocal range.
However, my true musical awakening happened when I saw a picture of a guitarist and a drummer. I found it cool, so I asked my mother if I could learn an instrument. I started playing guitar and drums but later focused solely on guitar when we moved to Tokyo, as our house was too small for a drum set.
Moving to Tokyo & Facing Challenges (Ages 12-14)
After 6th grade, we moved to Tokyo/Yokohama, and I attended DSTY (Deutsche Schule Tokyo Yokohama) for 7th and 8th grade. This was a very different experience:
- Bigger school = More social challenges
- First experience with bullying and peer pressure
- Struggled with German language skills
- Started playing football but was hilariously bad at it
However, the COVID-19 pandemic changed everything. During the lockdown, I had more time to explore my interests, which led to a deep obsession with music theory—specifically jazz. I studied jazz improvisation and harmony, which became my main musical focus.

Moving to Germany (Ages 14-18) – A New Beginning
After finishing 8th grade, my family made a tough decision: Japanese or German school? We chose Germany, so I moved to Leipzig and attended Humboldt-Gymnasium.
Here, I had to adapt to German culture, education, and social norms. One defining moment was when I discovered KiKA’s music competition, a German TV show for singer-songwriters. I auditioned, got selected, and performed on TV! This experience introduced me to music production, which inspired my dream of becoming a singer-songwriter.
During this time, Jacob Collier & John Mayer became my musical idols, influencing my approach to songwriting, harmony, and improvisation.
My Year in Ghana (Ages 18-19)
After completing 12th grade in Germany, I made the decision to join the Weltwärts volunteer program instead of going straight to university. This step took me all the way to Ghana—a place that not only welcomed me but also completely changed the way I see the world.
During my volunteer year, I:
- Supported students in arts, crafts, math, and reading
- Worked closely with Class 6 at Meet Kate Academy, guiding and inspiring young learners
- Helped build a football field through the Elora Resort Project
- Brought creativity into the classroom with small projects, games, and music
- Connected deeply with local life, culture, and traditions
This time in Ghana taught me more than any classroom ever could. I learned independence, resilience, and the joy of giving back. I discovered how much I love teaching, creating, and sharing knowledge—whether in mathematics, music, or life itself.
Looking back, my volunteer service was not just a year abroad—it was a turning point that shaped my future and set the foundation for everything I do today.

What’s next?
The journey continues. After my volunteer year in Ghana, I’m now preparing to begin my Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). My long-term goal is to pursue my studies all the way to a Doctorate, with a strong focus on theoretical physics and astrophysics—two fields that fuel my deepest curiosity about the universe.
At the same time, I’m committed to growing my audience as a musician. Music is not just a passion for me—it’s a way to connect, inspire, and share emotions across borders. My dream is to succeed in both worlds—science and art—and become truly one of a kind, bridging the beauty of mathematics with the creativity of music.
